Founder | Axum Agri
Biswajit Bordoloi is the founder of Axum Agri. This organisation mainly focuses on sustainable agro-initiatives, rural livelihood initiatives, and sustainability network initiatives. He did his engineering studies from UPTU. He then worked for Mahindra Satyam for three years as a software developer. After leaving this job, he did Entrepreneurship Management from XLRI Jamshedpur and founded Axum Agri in 2012. His main vision is to ‘transform rural communities in sustainable livelihood ventures’.
Dr. Ramanjaneyulu GV
Executive Director | Centre of Sustainable Agriculture
Dr. Ramanjaneyulu GV is the Executive Director of Centre for Sustainable Agriculture (CSA). CSA works with small and marginal farmers across the country to establish economic and ecological sustainability in farming. Ramajaneyulu did his B.Sc and M.Sc in Agriculture from Acharya NG Ranga Agriculture University. He did his doctorate in Agriculture from Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi. His work in the field of agriculture is very extensive. He set up a community marketing system-’Sahaja Aharam’; started ‘Grameen Academy; and is currently working with Government of Andhra Pradesh in promoting natural farming. He is a recipient of several awards. These include Rytunestham Lifetime Achievement Award in 2019, Rural Innovation Award in 2014 for ‘Community Managed Sustainable Agriculture’, and World Bank Development Market Place Award in 2005.
Country Director, India | Digital Green
Krishnan Pallassana is the Country Director of Digital Green in India. Digital Green aims to accelerate the reduction of poverty with the help of technology. Using technology they have been able to reach over 2.3 million of the world’s poorest. Krishnan did his B.Sc in Physics from Calicut University and an MBA in Marketing Management from Institute of Business Administration. Prior to joining Digital Green, Krishnan had 25 years of work experience in the sustainable development sectors. He served as COO for Population Foundation India, India Director for The Climate Group, and Country Director in Afghanistan for ActionAid International.
Co-Founder | Avani-Kumaon
Rashmi Bharti is the co-founder of Avani-Kumaon and has over 22 years of experience in rural development. To ignite the entrepreneurial spirit of the hard working women and men living in remote villages of Kumaon, she explored and supported the craft of this region. She set up the Kumaon Earthcraft Self Relaint Co-operative (EarthCraft), an artisan’s collective enterprise producing naturally dyed silk and wool textiles and lifestyle products. Through this she was able to empower the rural youth, especially the women. This led to the creation of a rural team of managers of Avani and EarthCraft consisting of members from these villages. She has won various awards such as Jankidevi Bajaj Puraskar and Energy Conservation Award from the Government of Uttarakhand in 2011.
Chairman | Chairman of Technico Agri Sciences Limited of ITC Infotech India Limited
S Sivakumar is the Chairman of Technico Agri Sciences Limited and Vice Chairman of ITC Infotech India Limited. Additionally, he is the head of ITC's Social Investments Programme. He graduated from Institute of Rural Management (IRMA) as the topper, post which he worked in a farmer’s cooperative for six years before joining ITC in 1989. Seven years later, he took on the role of Divisional Chief Executive of the Agri Business Division till 2017. It was during this period that he developed and executed e-Choupal.
At present, he also serves on the Advisory Council to the Ministry of Rural Development on National Rural Livelihoods Mission, the Commodity Derivatives Advisory Committee of SEBI, and on the Management Committee of National Agricultural Higher Education Project of the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.
Founder and Advisor | The Goat Trust
Sanjeev Kumar is the Founder and Advisor of The Goat Trust. He works at the Research and Study wing of the orgranisation working on scaling up new innovations and providing strategic support. An Ashoka Fellow, he did his B.Sc in Agriculture from BHU Varanasi and his M.Sc in Livestock production & Management from NDRI Karnal. He has carried out 65 field level sub sector and value chain studies and technical feasibility assessments for livestock based livelihoods. He worked with PRADAN from 1997 to 2003 and joined Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII) as a faculty member in 2004. Subsequently, in 2007 he resigned to work on the idea of The Goat Trust, which was formally registered in 2008.
Co-Founder and CEO | Pipal Tree Ventures Private Ltd.
Santosh Parulekar is the co-founder and CEO of Pipal Tree Ventures Private Ltd. This is an organisation that works as a high quality civil contractor specially in the field of finishing domain. Prior to joining this organisation, he did his Bachelor’s from Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute (VJTI) and an M.B.A. from S.P. Jain Institute of Management and Research. Moreover, in 2015 he received a fully funded scholarship to study at Harvard Business School, where he focused on Strategic Perspectives in Nonprofit Management.
